Happy New Year, dear listeners. We’re on holiday, but gathering ourselves for a new year of programs. Thanks for listening, and we’ll be back next week with more Daily Lights.

It’s Saturday, so we’re resting our vocal cords, but it’s the perfect time to think about themes for the holidays and the new year. Book Week, suggested by a reader, was a great success, so we’re eager to hear more suggestions from listeners about what you’d like to hear us talk about in the coming weeks. We’re at your command.

This week we will continue our discussion of politics, with a review around the Republican camps. As you know from listening to last week’s podcasts on the Democrats, we podcast in one sitting and then cut the discussion into five parts. Same thing again this week, but then on Monday, October 29th we’ll get back into live recordings in discrete, one day segments. The hour long conversations were a bit of an experiment on our part, and we think we like the daily episodes better. If you disagree, now is the time to speak up.

Due to some unexpected technical difficulties, we’re having an unplanned break this week from podcasting but back on Monday with a bunch of good stuff.

It’s finally Friday, and we wrap a week’s worth of betacasts with a meandering discussion that travels from the west coast to the east, with occasional mid-continent stopovers. We get ready for some football with today’s theme song, “Hollywood United” by StressB$%ch (an artist name so obscene we dare not speak it on air for fear of losing our ‘clean’ tag).
